Distant Light
Your eyes, blue as the clear heavenly sky,
And your soul, deep as the ocean abyss.
Your smile, bright as the summer sun,
And your hands, soft as the most precious silk.
Wrinkles on your forehead,
That make you look so serious.
And the joyful laughter,
That makes you so irresistible.
The cute nose holding your glasses,
That make you look so charming.
And the shape, drawn by the best artist,
That makes you so unique, so perfect.
...
Yet you are a distant light,
Looming and shimmering in the universe.
In the cold glooming void,
Created by you, just for you.
Infinite outer space,
Inhabitable and poisonous.
Forever it takes to reach your sight,
Eternity it needs to get your attention.
A distance less than eon,
Makes you float and fade away.
Dark matter and gravity, you say.
Please... stay, I pray.
